Kocaeli Free Zone, whose boundaries are set by Free Zones Statute no 3218 and Cabinet of Ministers resolution no 2000/693 has a status of free zone for 45 years. KOSBAŞ, Kocaeli Serbest Bölgesi Kurucu ve İşleticisi A.Ş, a joint initiative of the regional medium and large size industries to construct and operate the infrastructure and superstructure of Kocaeli Free Zone, has been founded.

Purpose of this techno-park to be constructed on 798.000 m2 area which is projected with reference to the excellent location of its region is to accelerate entrance of foreign capital and technology, supply economy with inexpensive and continuous inputs, ensure that investors make better use of external financing and technology transfer facilities.
